FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Could you give me information on how to get started
as a flower vendor? I have fresh flowers and would like a
spot to sell them at the farmers' market.
A: Spaces at the Market for locally grown items are reserved
for area farmers and nurseries. Horticultural industry is the largest
sector of New Jersey agriculture and we welcome inquiries from qualified
farms, nurseries and garden centers. More information about growing
for business in New Jersey can be found at the New
Jersey Department of Agriculture's website: Jersey Grown. More
farmer/vendor information can be found on our farmer/vendor
page.
Q:Do the vendors at the Market accept WIC?
A: We invite our farmers and vendors to become WIC approved (many
already are). Many also accept Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition
Program vouchers. Also, you can get more information about the New
Jersey WIC program by clicking here.
Q:I have a prepared food I want to sell at the Market.
Can I get a space?
A: We must make sure that everyone comply with state and/or county
regulations regarding health and safety requirements for food industry
related items. If you are making food in a home kitchen, you are
not able to sell it at the market. More farmer/vendor information
can be found on our farmer/vendor page.
Q:Can I get a table to sell Pampered Chef/Avon/Tastefully
Simple/etc.?
A: No.
Q: Can I raise money for my school group/charity/organization
at the Market?
A: Yes, but with restrictions. The Market has become a popular
attraction for donation-seeking school groups, sports teams, and
charities. In the interest of fairness and organization, we must
refuse anyone who hasn't requested and received permission to use
the Market for fund raising purposes.
Bucket panhandling is not allowed at any time.
