It’s Father’s Day weekend!
Weather forecast for Market hours:
Accuweather says: 80s. Sunny. Doesn’t that sound delightful?
Music: John Rossi (W), Trio Nova Duo (E) will entertain, much to marketgoers enjoyment.
What’s in season: Look for new crops!
DanLynn Farms has a BOUNTY! Red beets, baby bok choy, cilantro, lettuce heads, mixed lettuce bags, mesculin, kale, Russian fingerling potatoes, scallions, strawberries, Swiss chard, yellow squash, zucchini. They’re continuing the kale sale and will also offer a sale on yellow squash and zucchini.
Viereck Farms will have asparagus (last week of the season), zucchini, a large supply of sugar snap peas and snow peas.
Hymer Farms will be back this week and they have squash, cucumbers, and peas.
Tortilla Press says: We have a newcomer to our menu! We just got goldbar squash and zucchini from Springdale Farms. So we’re going to do a mix of both of these, add melted cheese, oregano and just a touch of garlic, and then we’ll put them in a four quesadilla. It’s a nice, light taste.
Need a gift? Father’s Day is a perfect time to surprise your husband, dad or grandfather with Clam Daddy’s fresh clams from the shore!
Hillacres Pride: Chicken wings on special – great for barbeques (they’ve got sausages, too)! Also sampling fresh ricotta, pesto fresh cheese & westbrook.
LOOKING AHEAD: Schober Orchards reports, “Peaches are growing nicely. They are bright green and fuzzy right now, over an inch long. We are very thankful the recent hail didn’t impact our crops. We should have our first peaches available early next month.
Market Day Canele (bringing strawberry, vanilla, chocolate tart, cauliflower with bacon and mustard tart and gougere sandwiches with farm egg salad, ham and asparagus!)
Green Aisle Grocery
John & Kira’s Chocolate
Border Springs Farm (lamb)
