Happy Papal Weekend! We’re open and the “Pope” will be at the Market!

Make fries with that. There are lots of potatoes in season! Get some spuds (traditional or sweet) and make up some fries, hash, mash, tots, skins, wedges…

Weather forecast for Market hours: Cloudy and rising to the low 70s. Starting to feel like fall.

Music: The much loved She Hates Me (east side), Sam Caruso (west side) will play this week.

What’s in season:
AT Buzby will have kiwiberries (try one, seriously) and pumpkins this week. Corn is coming to an end so grab your corn for freezing. They’re also bringing delicata squash “a winter squash like butternut but you don’t have to peal it. You eat the skin!”

DanLynn Organic Farms will have the following organic produce: Broccoli, fingerling potatoes, sweet frying and bell peppers, yellow onions, acorn and spaghetti squash, butternut squash and pie pumpkins, tomatoes, summer honey, okra, cucumbers, collards and kale.

Duker T’s will have SOUP! As temperatures fall, they bring out the creamy vegetable varieties. This weekend they’ll feature Cream of Broccoli, Jersey Pepper Hash, Chicken Vegetable as well as chicken salad and chicken deviled eggs.

Wild Flour Bakery will have apple pies and new focaccia. “It is shredded beet, apple, and feta cheese focaccia. We will also have beet-shallot batards with ginger and quinoa.”

Hillacres Pride will have pork roast/fresh ham on Special.  They’re sampling Smoky Bacon, Pesto and Honey Fresh Cheese among other cheeses as well (yum!).  This is likely the last weekend for fresh mozzarella.  They are offering pork packs (approx. 1/4 pig) for pre-order, stop by their stand to find out more information.
