November 6, 2010: Apples for Veterans Day Weather forecast for Market hours: Partly cloudy, in the 40s.
What's in season? It's Schober Orchards's "Apples for Vets" day this Saturday. Veterans can come to their stand and get a free half-basket of apples, a gallon of cider, and heartfelt appreciation for their service. Are you a vet? They want to meet you personally and thank you for your courageous service, so come on down! Know a vet? Please tell them about this very special gesture from Schober Orchards. It's turkey order season. Two Market farms are offering
local turkey orders: Free Drawing finale The friends of the Farmer's Market is offering market apron/market tote combos as prizes for the remainder of the season. Come to the information tent and enter, one name will be drawn for each remaining Saturday and delivered to the winners. It's still craft month In November we welcome local crafters to fill in the gaps left by farmers whose seasons have already ended. Take some time to explore the tables of these talented but temporary Market participants. Crafters choose the dates that they come, so if you see something you like, buy it! It may not be back next week. Recipe: Click here to view and print: Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts. This is an encore recipe. It turns more people into brussels-sprouts-lovers every time we post it.
