Cooking Jersey Fresh

Chef Demonstrations 2009

In 2007, we came up with the idea of a project called “Cooking Jersey Fresh.” It aimed to generate enthusiasm about preparing local items. Everyone was encouraged to take advantage of all the good, nutritious food our farming community has to offer. The highlight of “Cooking Jersey Fresh” was cooking demonstrations featuring some of the area's most talented chefs.

Last year, we hosted our second season of demos at the Market, to continued success.

This year, for the Market’s tenth anniversary, a goal is set to try to feature at least ten different demos in 2009. We hope you can join us!

Demos are weather permitting.

Special thanks:

Special thanks to Lydia Cipriani of The Tortilla Press for her extra help planning the launch of the Market cooking demonstrations. Tortilla Press is a Market Sponsor.

Special thanks, too, to Stephen Freehill of Moore Brothers Wine Company. He offers lively wine recommendations for the recipes featured in the Cooking Jersey Fresh project.
